Proposals for Matt Brevner
Here are some of the album art proposal I put together for musician Matt Brevner -
As a politician is there for the people, Matt Brevner is there for Music and the fans that worship, adore and crave it. From the suburbs of Vancouver BC, Canada, you can say the talented trend-setter has always had a knack for word-play. Itching to be heard, and while already inspired by poets as Edgar Allen Poe, Shakespeare, and Maya Angelou; Matt Brevner found himself mimicking libretto over Nasir Jones (Nas) “I know I can”, and quickly took a liking to music.
I had two days to throw somthing together for him, but unfortunately I was to busy with other work I promised other people, and only had the time to create these too, which I’m not personally a fan of, so I missed out on the opportunity. I was going to further develop the cone-head one to mimic his original idea, and I was planning on doing another two or three idea I had, but time got away from me. Hopefully I’ll be on his short-list in the future, because this guy is definitely going places – and the exposure would be priceless.

Written about on kulturologia.ru

I was really shocked looking at my site analytics to find that a Russian author on kulturologia.ru had done a blog post about my work and sent a ton of traffic to my site! It’s not in English, and they got my name wrong, but it’s still really flattering.
Some interesting quotes, translated:
[David] Sword will leave no one indifferent.
All this was going: to the movies – special effects in photos – collages. I liked all the work, it is evident that the artist spent a lot of time to create them. They carry either positive as carefree girls, or a warning in the form of bombs, syplyuschihsya the city. In all of this makes sense.
The works, which show light-hearted girl, really nice! Evoke only positive emotions.

Home Made Hot-Light
I’m like everyone else, I don’t have any extra money laying around – ¬¨‚Ćthere’s always something more important to buy, or credit to pay off. One thing that’s been¬¨‚Ćstraggling on my to-buy list for well over a year, that I’ve been hurting without, is a hot light! I had a few extra materials laying around, and a day to kill, and this is what I managed to create.
The work lamps heat up like crazy, so I always keep a fire¬¨‚Ćextinguisher¬¨‚Ćclose by.. if you’re making one I suggest you do the same.
Update: I didn’t trust how hot the tarp and wire were getting, so I wraped the coat hanger frame with chicken wire, then wraped the chicken wire with a layer of aluminum foil (besides providing a layer between the heat and tarp, this unintentionally made the light much more brighter from all the added reflection).. I also cut a large whole in the top to vent out the heat, and removed the backing so the lamp was exposed to the air to cool instead of heating up in the enclosed dome.. again.. this is a huge fire¬¨‚Ćhazard – so if this inspires you to create your own, use at own risk.
